The Garden & Woodland Fairies

Bearded Fairies' society consists of two distinct branches; the Garden & Woodland Fairies and the Deep Forest Fairies. Within these branches there is a clan system of which there are many kinds - some still awaiting discovery!

Within each clan there are different kinds of Bearded Fairies. Let's take a peek at some of the Garden & Woodland Fairies from the Meadow Clan below:

NAïFS

A NAïF's responsibility includes supporting that first laughter on its journey to the grotto. I puzzled how they did this and then realised that the beating of their wings created the light wind that carry those first laughs to the grotto. This journey is full of fun and laughter even when faced with danger from “those who try to stop laughter.”

Height = 2 to 3 inches

Wing span = 6 inches

A Garden & Woodland Meadow Naïf

SYLPHS look out for the young fairies and watch out for danger. They clear the way by removing any threat. They have the great responsibility for guiding and teaching the younger fairies about environmental care and maintaining the Grotto.

These fairies make themselves visible at times to cause mischief and laughter amongst humans. They cause people to question themselves and thus inspire and motivate their creativity. This leads to continual joy and therefore laughter which strengthens the invisible bond between the fairy and its creator the now grownup baby whose first laughter created it.

Height = 4 to 6 inches

MAJESTICS

MAJESTICS liaise with Sylphs about the wellbeing of their human. They will discuss strategies for moving forward to assist the human in regaining his or her joy. They will usually use mischievous means to achieve their goal.

These fairies are also responsible for the sprinkling of fairy dust on that first laughter and showing them on their way to be blessed by Divine fairy.

These fairies are also responsible for maintaining the grotto and provide support and guidance to Sylphs.

Height = 6 to 10 inches

Wing span = 15 inches

DIVINE FAIRY

Divine Bearded Fairy is probably the funniest of all the fairies who delivers wit and inspired joy with every word that comes from its mouth. Divine blesses the new young fairies with quick joyous words and informs them of their important mission.

The largest of all the fairies, they looks after and guide all the others. They make sure all fairies keep in the forefront of their minds the importance of play and creativity.

Height = 8 to 13 inches

Wing span = 16 inches

THE GUARDIANS OF THE FAIRY DUST

Let me introduce you to the Guardians of the Fairy Dust. They are neither this nor that, big or small to be quite honest they are neither short or tall. They are, round and long and spiky and smooth.

Some have legs of many numbers, some 8 some 4, some 2, or none at all, I am not kidding.

Some are soft some are hard some are hairy and dare I say some are slimy

Some are shiny some not. Some are colourful and some are not. And though they are so different to each other they do not care because the things they have in common are that they laugh and play and enjoy their work, that they live side by side without any fear, and that they all have moustaches and beards.

So, if you see a spider, don't stamp or squish it; he or she could be spinning a web to catch more fairy dust. If you see an army of ants bid them on their way as they could be delivering more wishes and helping them on their journey.

If you see a mouse, help it to find its correct course because it could be helping a wish ̶ it could even be yours.

So to define a guardian you could say

they are varied in size, shape, colour and hue. These usually small winged, creatures have moustaches and are bearded too. Their life span can be short or long but one can guarantee they're having lots of fun delivering fairy dust on wishes...ta tum!

And finally, the Acorn Vessels. Every Fairy and Guardian has one.

THE ACORN VESSELS

These unique hand-crafted wooden acorns contain eco-friendly fairy dust which amount to 3 wishes. Divine Bearded Fairy advises us to use them well:

‘Three wishes have been bestowed upon you, use them well. Be very clear of what you ask for and do try not to mumble. Now that you have put your wish out there you can’t just sit back and relax for how will your wish find you in the silence? You must fulfil your side of the bargain.
